Coach Simmons is acting head coach, and team is working with compliance to move Coach Kingsbury to an active assistant role. @USC_LAFB
Coach Dennis Simmons has stepped in as the acting head coach in Lincoln Riley’s absence, and will speak with the media later today.
The program also announced that they are working with compliance to elevate Coach Kliff Kingsbury to an active assistant coaching role while Coach Riley is out.
There has been no update as to what kind of illness Coach Riley is dealing with, and there is no current timetable for when he will return other than he is “day-to-day.”
Coming off of two straight losses, and a program that is reeling, this certainly is really bad timing. We will keep you posted with any updates that we are able to obtain.
We will have after-practice interviews with Coach Simmons and Coach Grinch in the next couple of hours.
