After adding some pieces to the current roster in the transfer portal, the USC Trojans just added an elite running back to the 2026 recruiting class.
4-Star running back, Shahn Alston was given a crystal prediction to commit to USC a week ago, and now he has made it official.
Shahn Alston Commits To USC Trojans
The 5’9, 205-pound RB out of Painesville, Ohio is a two-way high school player who has snaps in the return game, as well. He finished the 2024 season with 131 carries for 1,104 yards and 16 touchdowns in 8 games. He also caught 14 passes for 184 yards.
Alston is the 13th-ranked running back in On3’s rankings and the 12th-ranked per 247. He chose the Trojans over Penn State and Wisconsin.
Alston is the 8th commitment for Lincoln Riley’s 2026 Class, and the first running back. His size and speed will make a great compliment to what that room could look like in the 2026 season.
Now begins the process of retention. Getting a commitment this far out is only half the battle. Keeping the athlete engaged, and feeling wanted, is the next part of the recruiting process.
A lot of things can change over the next year, but hopefully, Alston remains steadfast in his commitment to the USC Trojans.
