With A Decision Looming, Elite 2026 Running Back Crystal Balled To USC Trojans

It seems crazy as we just wrapped up the 2025 recruiting cycle for the USC Trojans, and the transfer portal is in full swing with its own surprises, but recruiting the 2026 class is just as important.

College recruiting is a year-round game, and with NIL, strategies are ever-changing.

One of the top running backs in the 2026 class, Shahn Alston, is set to make his commitment on January 11, and it will be between these three schools: Penn State, Wisconsin, and USC.

Will Shahn Alston Commit To The USC Trojans?

Both On3 and 247 Sports have been bullish on the Trojans to pick up Alston’s commitment, and Allen Trieu of 247 has given a Crystal Ball prediction for it to happen.

Alston is the 13th-ranked running back in On3’s rankings and the 12th-ranked per 247.

The 5’9, 205-pound RB out of Painesville, Ohio is a two-way high school player who has snaps in the return game, as well. He finished the 2024 season with 131 carries for 1,104 yards and 16 touchdowns in 8 games. He also caught 14 passes for 184 yards.

Alston would be a nice addition to the room that should feature current freshman Brian Jackson for the foreseeable future.
