The USC Trojans official season isn’t even over and the mock draft community already wants to deliver bad news to next year’s squad.
In their latest mock draft, Pro Football Focus predicted that red-shirt sophomore defensive back, Kamari Ramsey will not only declare for the 2025 NFL Draft with several years of eligibility remaining but will be taken in the middle of the second round of the upcoming draft.
Will Kamari Ramsey Leave The USC Trojans For The NFL?

PFF expects that Ramsey will be taken 47th overall by the Indianapolis Colts. According to this mock draft, Ramsey would be just the second safety taken in the draft behind only the Georgia Bulldogs Malaki Starks — who they have going 10th overall. According to the mock, Ramsey is the only USC Trojan selected in the first three rounds.
With the Colts, he would play with former Trojans wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. and 2023 UCLA Bruins teammate, Laiatu Latu.
If Ramsey were to declare for the Draft, the Trojans would have to replace all five or more of their starting defensive backs from this season. Jaylin Smith, Jacobe Covington, John Humphrey, Greedy Vance Jr., DeCarlos Nicholson, Bryson Shaw, and Akili Arnold all have four or more seasons under their belt.

USC has a few promising up-and-comers on the roster to fill some of those vacated spots — Zion Branch and Prophet Brown both played a good amount of snaps in 2024, but even so, they would have a long way to go to refill all those slots, especially Ramsey, who was arguably the teams best defender this year.
Talented freshmen, Marcelles Williams, Isaiah Rubin, and Marquis Gallegos will step into bigger roles immediately with Christian Pierce also looking to take on a big role.
The Trojans will certainly add some secondary pieces in the transfer portal as well.
Nothing is confirmed, but Kamari Ramsey heading to the NFL Draft would certainly leave a massive hole.
