Los Angeles Rams fans can exhale. After weeks of injury uncertainty, wide receiver Puka Nacua has officially been cleared to play in Sunday’s critical NFC West matchup against the San Francisco 49ers.
The Rams’ latest injury report did not include Nacua, confirming his full availability for Week 10. ESPN’s Adam Schefter first reported the update, noting that the star receiver, who left Week 9 early with a chest injury, will be back in uniform.

Nacua’s toughness has already become a defining trait of his young career. The 2023 breakout star has dealt with ankle, rib, and chest issues this season — missing one full game and playing limited snaps in another — yet continues to lead the team with 61 receptions and 711 yards, along with four touchdowns.
Before his brief absence, Nacua was pacing the NFL in receptions and receiving yards, further underscoring his importance to Matthew Stafford and Sean McVay’s offense. His physical style of play, often inviting contact after the catch, has made him both a fan favorite and a focal point for opposing defenses.
McVay confirmed earlier this week that Nacua was trending toward playing after being a full participant in Thursday and Friday’s practices. “He looked good, felt good, and we’re confident in where he’s at,” McVay said.
Revenge on the Rams Mind
Sunday’s matchup carries added motivation for Los Angeles. The Rams’ Week 5 overtime loss to a shorthanded 49ers team remains one of the season’s few blemishes. Despite missing Brock Purdy, George Kittle, and multiple starters, San Francisco escaped with a 26–23 win after a late Kyren Williams fumble.
Since that defeat, the Rams have been rolling. They’ve won three straight games, scoring over 30 points in each, and now sit atop the NFC West standings. The 49ers, meanwhile, have alternated wins and losses over their last four games and have struggled to find rhythm since their 3–0 start.
Key Injury Notes
While Nacua’s return provides a major lift, the Rams are still monitoring second-year receiver Jordan Whittington, who missed practice this week with a back injury. With Tutu Atwell already sidelined, Whittington’s availability could shape the Rams’ depth at wideout.
For now, though, Los Angeles has its biggest offensive weapon ready. And in a divisional showdown that could help define their season, Puka Nacua’s presence might make all the difference.
