Rams Get Big Lamar Jackson, Kyle Hamilton Injury Update Ahead Of Ravens Clash

As the Baltimore Ravens prepare to face the Los Angeles Rams in Week 6, injury concerns remain front and center. Quarterback Lamar Jackson injury (hamstring) remained sidelined at Wednesday’s practice, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports, with NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport noting, “Looking like no Lamar Jackson again this week…” Jackson has not practiced since leaving the Week 4 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs and was ruled out for Sunday’s 44-10 blowout defeat to the Houston Texans.

If Jackson is unable to go again this weekend, Cooper Rush is expected to make a second consecutive start, though coach John Harbaugh confirmed practice squad quarterback Tyler Huntley remains under consideration. Rush struggled against Houston, completing 14 of 20 passes for 179 yards with three interceptions.

Safety Kyle Hamilton returned to practice on Wednesday after missing the Texans game with a groin injury sustained against Kansas City. Hamilton’s return is a boost for a Ravens secondary that has been reworked in recent weeks, with Malaki Starks, Sanoussi Kane, Reuben Lowery, C.J. Gardner-Johnson, and Alohi Gilman forming the safety rotation alongside Hamilton.

Other key players missing Wednesday included fullback Patrick Ricard (calf), inside linebacker Roquan Smith (hamstring), and cornerbacks Marlon Humphrey (calf) and Chidobe Awuzie (hamstring). Left tackle Ronnie Stanley, who was limited last week, returned to full practice.

Implications for Sunday

The Ravens enter Week 6 at 1-4, facing a Los Angeles team capable of exploiting the absence of their star quarterback. Without Jackson, Los Angeles is heavily favored, and Baltimore’s path to a potential turnaround narrows considerably. Harbaugh acknowledged the delicate nature of Jackson’s hamstring injury, emphasizing the need for caution given the quarterback’s mobility and prior history.

Baltimore now faces the difficult prospect of managing a roster with multiple key injuries while preparing for a critical divisional matchup. With their bye week following the Rams game, Jackson could potentially have three weeks to recover before facing the Chicago Bears in Week 8. Meanwhile, Hamilton’s presence offers some stability in the secondary, giving Baltimore at least one defensive star back in the fold.

The next couple of practice reports will be critical in determining Jackson’s availability and the team’s overall game plan. For now, they must navigate injuries and uncertainty as they prepare to meet the Rams in a matchup that could define their early-season trajectory.
