The 2025 preseason is all wrapped up for the Los Angeles Chargers after a defeat in Santa Clara against the San Francisco 49ers. It’s now up to general manager Joe Hortiz and head coach Jim Harbaugh and his coaching staff to decide which players to keep as they finalize the 53-man roster.
With that being said, here are three undrafted players who have the best chance of making the team.

Raheim “Rocket” Sanders | RB | #35
Preseason Stats: 28 Att, 101 Rushing Yards (3.6 Y/A), 2 TD’s | 5 Rec 29 Receiving Yards
Free agent addition Najee Harris (6’1″, 242 lbs) is trending more towards remaining on the Non-Football Injury (NFI) list with every given day. It creates an opening in the RB room that Rocket Sanders (6’0″, 230 lbs) has taken full advantage of.
Over the course of the three preseason games he’s played in, he’s looked as advertised, running with great vision and incorporating both speed and power into his game. He’s also shown an ability to be a reliable pass catcher, making him an even more dynamic weapon.

Sanders easily slides into the RB3 role on this roster as he’s looked much better than both Kimani Vidal and Nyheim Miller-Hines, and takes on the role of bruising change-of-pace back.
Nikko Reed | CB | #46
Preseason Stats: 5 Total Tackles, 2 PD’s, 1 INT
Nikko Reed (5’10”, 180 lbs) has been one of the biggest risers throughout the offseason, as he made his mark early during the HOF game with an interception return for 60 yards.
Since missing a game and returning from an undisclosed injury, he hasn’t missed a beat at all, displaying both the instincts and physicality coveted in cornerbacks.
Reed has done everything possible as a UDFA to prove that he belongs on this team, and as the saying goes, “you can never have enough corners on the team.”, which bodes well for his chances to make the final 53.
Marlowe Wax | LB | #58
Preseason Stats: 20 tackles, 2 TFLs, 2 sacks, 1 PD
Marlowe Wax (6’1″, 236 lbs) capped off his preseason campaign in spectacular fashion, making his presence known all across the field by tying the team lead with 6 tackles, including a strip sack that was recovered by OLB Caleb Murphy (6’3″, 254 lbs).

It will be extremely difficult for the Los Angeles Chargers to let him hit the waiver wire if they decide to go a different direction, as the other 31 teams are sure to have watched his tape, making his return to the practice squad unlikely.
The captain of the Syracuse defense has shown massive improvements with each game, signaling to coaches that he’s a fast learner who has a high ceiling as he continues to gain experience at the NFL level.
