RB | Jaret Patterson – Active Roster Signing
After being elevated from the practice squad the maximum three times during the regular season, the Chargers have opted to sign RB Jaret Patterson to the active roster. He’ll take over the primary backup duties behind RB Kimani Vidal.
In 3 games thus far, Patterson has 75 rushing yards on 21 attempts for 3.6 yards per carry.
RB | Trayveon Williams – Practice Squad Elevation
The 7th-year veteran who’s spent the previous six seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals will receive his third and final elevation from the practice squad this year. He’ll primarily contribute on special teams, and will only get carries if the two players ahead of him go down with injuries.

OL | Foster Sarrell
To make space for Williams, the Chargers waived offensive lineman Foster Sarrell from the practice squad. The offensive line has been battered this season; as a result, Sarrell has seen extended action, playing in 6 games, including one start. It wouldn’t be surprising to see the front office bring back Sarrell after the weekend, with a practice squad spot freed up once Hampton’s a full go.
