USC Trojans Star Goes In 1st Round Of ESPN’s Latest Mock Draft

The college football season hasn’t even started yet, but the NFL Mock Drafts are already coming out, and many are favorable towards the USC Trojans.

Makai Lemon and Kamari Ramsey are two players who have been highly ranked on draft boards, but ESPN’s latest edition features wide receiver star Ja’Kobi Lane.

Field Yates just dropped his latest mock, and he has the Buffalo Bills selecting Lane with the last pick in the 1st round.

While he was left off the Preseason Biletnikoff Watchlist, Lane has the ability to be one of the top receivers in all of college football. His rare blend of size, speed, and catch radius makes him a mismatch for just about every defensive back.

Clearly, Field Yates feels the same way.

“Lane caught 12 touchdowns last season after just seven total catches in 2023,” writes Yates. “He is a fluid mover and displays very good route running and comfort catching the football inside and outside his frame. Lane also showed some contested catch ability and toughness in the middle of the field on the tape. Josh Allen would approve.”

The idea of Lane and Josh Allen together is a very exciting proposition.

During our media call yesterday with Coach Riley, it was revealed that Lane broke his foot in May, but he is now fully healthy and has been a full go in practice for about a week.

The USC Trojans kick off their season against Missouri State on Saturday, August 30th at 4:30 PM PT. Will Ja’Kobi Lane be the next great Projan?
