UCLA Bruins LB Stuns At NFL Combine

The NFL Combine is the perfect place for unknown players to get found, and that is exactly what just happened for UCLA Bruins linebacker Kain Medrano.

Of all the drills at the combine, the 40-yard dash is typically what stands out the most and certainly gets the most hype. Medrano blew everyone away with an astounding 4.46 second 40, which is the fastest among all linebackers and the fastest for the entire day of testing.

Medrano played all five collegiate seasons with the UCLA Bruins, and last year was his most productive. He finished with 72 total tackles, 1.5 sacks, 3 forced fumbles, and 2 interceptions.

Medrano was widely viewed as a player who would ultimately go undrafted and join a team as a UDFA, which is still an opportunity. Omar Speights was a UDFA for the Los Angeles Rams last year and ended up becoming a starter, and he started for them in the playoffs.

However, putting his blazing speed on display could turn some heads. The biggest issue throughout his career was staying healthy. If he can pass all of the medicals, his production from last year and this combine 40-time could push him into the later rounds.
