The Los Angeles Dodgers have been on an absolute heater this offseason. After winning the World Series, they may be stronger heading into the 2024 season than they were in 2024.
As great as this is, you can’t keep everyone, so players from last year’s squad may have to be moved to make room on the roster for the influx of new talent.
According to Bob Nightengale of USA Today, one of those players who could be moving teams is veteran pitcher Ryan Brasier.
Los Angeles Dodgers Are Shopping Ryan Brasier

The 37-year-old right-hander from Witchita Falls, Texas is due $4.5 million this year. Not that the Dodgers can’t afford it, but with a surplus of talent at that position, moving Brasier and saving some money certainly makes sense.
It is not yet finalized, but with the addition of Tanner Scott and Kirby Yates, Brasier may be the odd man out with a late-inning bullpen group that includes Michael Kopech (when back from injury), Blake Treinen, Evan Phillips, Alex Vesia, Anthony Banda, and the potential of Clayton Kershaw returning as a bullpen arm/spot starter.

Brasier did play a key role in the Dodgers World Series run where he started two “bullpen games.” He pitched a total of nine innings and had an ERA of 5.00. While they were not dominant numbers, he gave manager Dave Roberts much-needed innings and was part of a wildly successful “bullpen game” rotation.

Brasier got his start in the majors with the Los Angeles Angels in 2013 and then played six seasons with the Boston Red Sox before joining the Dodgers in 2023.
It will be interesting to see what kind of market Brasier could have and if the Dodgers are able to move him for any assets or if they will simply need to release him.
We will be watching this story as it develops.
