The Los Angeles Chargers Week 6 injury report came out yesterday and it was just as impactful and frankly as long as it was before the bye.
17 players were listed (Derwin James made the list, but it was not injury-related), and among them is star outside linebacker Joey Bosa. Bosa has been a mainstay on the injury report since Week 2. Bosa has struggled with multiple injuries, starting with a back injury, and now has a hip injury. He was able to play in Weeks 2 and 3 but missed Week 4’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Joey Bosa DNP On Latest Chargers Injury Report
There is always the hope that an extra week to rest and recuperate is the salve that heals all wounds, but Bosa has missed practice on both Wednesday and Thursday.
Bosa has posted uncharacteristically mediocre numbers this season. He has just four quarterback pressures in three games and has yet to log a sack. However, Pro Football Focus grades him as the Chargers’ top-run defender, with a score of 92.6. That is also the best grade in football today.
Bosa is no stranger to the Chargers injury report. 2019 was the last season that he played all scheduled games. Last season, he didn’t play in the last seven games of the season due to a pedal foot sprain. In 2022, he missed 12 games due to an ankle sprain, then a concussion and a groin tear.
In some good news for the teams, several players made their return to the practice field. Joe Alt, Asante Samuel, Hayden Hurst, Denzel Perryman, and Kristian Fulton were all full participants after missing the Chiefs game. Justin Herbert was listed as limited. He’s been on the report for the fourth straight week. Gus Edwards has also missed both days of practice this week.
