Julian Lewis De-commits From USC, 5-Star Local QB Flips To USC Trojans

Well, it’s official. It’s been a wild few weeks for USC Trojans recruiting and the rumors have been hot and heavy.

We can now confirm that Julian Lewis has de-committed from USC, but local 5-Star QB Husan Longstreet has flipped his commitment from Texas A&M to the Trojans.

USC Trojans Get 5-Star QB Husan Longstreet

Julian Lewis had been committed to USC since August of 2023 but had been very open with his recruiting and was just at Georgia this past weekend. His next commitment is not official yet, but the prediction is that he will end up at Colorado.

Longstreet had been committed to Texas A&M since April, but Lincoln Riley and USC began ramping up their recruiting of him over the last few weeks.

Longstreet was at the Coliseum just yesterday for USC’s win over the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

Lewis is a great QB prospect and has a very bright future ahead of him, but Longstreet actually feels like a better fit. Not only is he a local prospect (his Centennial team is currently in the CIF Southern Section semifinals), but he is a bit bigger and more mobile than Lewis.

Over his high school career, Lewis has 219 yards rushing. Longstreet has 419 yards rushing just this season, and 1,191 yards over his career.

We saw in yesterday’s game how Jayden Maiava was able to open the offense up a bit more by using his legs and keeping the defense on their toes.

Getting a local QB feels like a big win for Lincoln Riley and the program. Fans have been begging for a Trojan Wall in Southern California again. Perhaps this is the first brick in the early stages of building.
