The USC Trojans, and President Carol Folt, just put out a release where Folt addressed Trojan nation and announced that she will be retiring at the end of the academic year, effective July 1, 2025.
This does not come as a huge shock as her original contract was set to expire last June, and while it was amended and extended, a long-term extension was never announced.
Folt has served as the 12th President of USC since July of 2019. During her tenure, she dealt with plenty of turmoil, including the COVID-19 pandemic, on-campus protests, and others, but also oversaw some very successful initiatives.
Carol Folt’s USC Legacy

USC will now looks to hire its 13th President before Folt’s retirement officially begins in July of next year.
