USC Trojans Star Linebacker OUT Vs Utah State

USC Trojans star linebacker Mason Cobb was given the Questionable injury designation heading into the game against Utah State, and after coming out to warmups at the Coliseum in street clothes, has been ruled OUT.

This will mean that Eric Gentry will slide in to start next to Mike Linebacker Easton Mascarenas-Arnold. If the game goes to plan, we should see plenty of Raesjon Davis and both true freshmen Desman Stephens II and Elijah Newby, as well.

Cobb finished the game against LSU with seven total tackles and had the game-sealing interception.

Future For USC Trojans LB Mason Cobb

USC Football will have a bye next week before heading to Ann Arbor to play the Michigan Wolverines. With the depth they have at Linebacker, it certainly makes a lot of sense to keep Cobb out and let him get 100% healthy over the next two weeks before their first Big Ten matchup.

Freshman Carlon Jones, who is not listed on the official depth chart, is also out tonight and was in a walking boot during warmups.

We will keep you updated on both players’ progress.

Kickoff is set for 8 PM PT at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, and the USC Trojans are currently a 30.5 favorite.
