The USC Trojans offensive analyst, Luke Huard, has a new job. It’s coaching the wide receivers. Huard has been named interim inside wide receivers coach. Meanwhile, Dave Nichol, his predecessor, is away on a private medical matter.

Huard joined the team in February and has swiftly moved up the ranks as he made his way from stop to stop. For the last three years (2019-2021) Huard was an offensive analyst for Texas A&M. Prior to that, he spent 2017 and 2018 as co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Sacramento State. From 2013 to 2016, he was the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Georgia State. At Illinois State, he was the offensive coordinator from (2010-2012) and quarterbacks coach from 2009.
Part of a famous football family, Huard’s older brothers Damon and Brock, were both former starting quarterbacks in the NFL. As a high school player in Washington, Huard was named the 1997 Gatorade Player of the Year as the quarterback of Puyallup High. Huard, played his collegiate ball at the University of North Carolina for three seasons before a career-ending injury forced him into coaching.
Spring practices for the Trojans kicked off today, and the Spring game is scheduled for April 23, at the LA Coliseum.
