Alright folks, I’m back with my Week 3 fantasy predictions. You just can’t get rid of me. I’ll say it every week, I think my picks will be spot on! The confidence is there and the results are soon to follow. There are some good matchups around the league and some intriguing players that will make my list this week. Due to the plethora of injuries in Week 2, some new faces look to have bigger roles in their teams’ success. So without further ado, here are my top picks for fantasy in Week 3.
Top 3 QBs
Cam Newton – New England Patriots
Cam has been one of the best fantasy quarterbacks to start the season. In a Week 3 matchup with the visiting Raiders, I expect Cam to keep his success rolling. Where he has been excelling is around the goal-line with designed runs for the 6’5″ QB. His passing has also improved drastically as he is throwing as he did early in his career. Look for Newton to account for at least 3 touchdowns on Sunday.
Daniel Jones – New York Giants
The San Francisco 49ers defense is banged up and I think that is putting it lightly. They’ll be without the majority of their stout defensive line and Richard Sherman is still on IR. Jones and the Giants are looking for their first win of the season and are going to have put up some points to beat the defending NFC Champs. Look for Jones to have his first big game of 2020.
Russell Wilson – Seattle Seahawks
My front-runner for MVP this year, Wilson is playing lights out. Wilson is currently the best fantasy QB in 2020, though it’s only by a few points. Nonetheless, Wilson and his playmakers are firing on all cylinders as Wilson has a 4 TD and a 5 TD performance to start the season. Look for those numbers to be consistent in Week 3 with the high-powered Cowboys offense coming to town. Who knows, he might add a rushing TD to his stat line this week.
Top 3 RBs
James Robinson had a big Thursday night for the Jaguars as he went off for 30.90 points. There is a good chance he could be top 3, but I think there are others that can have big games as well.
Alvin Kamara – New Orleans Saints
One of the only bright spots for the Saints this season, Kamara will need to keep balling out if the Saints look to bounce back this week vs. the Packers. Furthermore, he leads all RBs currently in receiving yards and is a reception behind second-year back Myles Gaskin. Fantasy owners would like to see Kamara’s rushing yards increase, but that will come with time. Look for Kamara to rope in a couple of TDs in a Sunday night shootout.
Aaron Jones – Green Bay Packers
Aaron Jones went off last week to the tune of 45.60 points. Though I don’t see that crazy of numbers this week, I still like Jones to get in the endzone at least twice. The Packers will be on the road for Sunday Night Football in New Orleans, a game that looks to be a shootout. In his only matchup vs. the Saints in his rookie season, Jones ran for 131 yards and a score, adding a few receptions as well.
Ezekiel Elliott – Dallas Cowboys
Elliott likes to play against the Seahawks. In 3 career games vs. the Seahawks, Zeke has run for 350+ yards with a rushing score, while adding 11 receptions. The Cowboys are coming off a big comeback victory in Week 2 and look to keep that momentum going into Seattle. Look for Elliott to set the tone for the team on the ground with a couple of scores.
Top 6 WRs
Keenan Allen – Los Angeles Chargers
The Chargers are a different team with rookie Justin Herbert under center. In his first game, he was smart to target Allen 10 times. Allen was able to haul in 7 for 96 yards. In a Week 3 match-up with the Panthers, look for that rapport to build between Herbert and Allen with Keenan snagging his first TD of the season.
Calvin Ridley – Atlanta Falcons
Ridley currently leads all receivers in touchdowns this season and is tied with Stefon Diggs for yards. With Julio Jones questionable for Week 3, look for Ridley to be targeted even more by Matt Ryan. The Falcons look to right the ship and get their first win of the 2020 season. Look for Ridley to haul in a TD or two.
Darius Slayton – New York Giants
Slayton is the number 1 target in New York. He and Daniel Jones have had a great rapport since both their rookie seasons in 2019. Fellow receiver Sterling Shepard will be out with a turf toe injury. Slayton looks to have a bounce-back week and replicate his Week 1 performance. Look for him to snag at least one score for the Giants.
John Brown – Buffalo Bills
While the Bills have a tough match-up with the Rams coming to town, I think that John Brown will have a big game. It is likely that Jalen Ramsey will be on Stefon Diggs the majority of the game, leaving Brown as a viable option to beat the defense deep. He’s seen a good amount of targets and has scored in each game this season. Look for him to add to that in Week 3.
Will Fuller – Houston Texans
In an interesting twist, Fuller went from a 10 target, 100+ yard performance in Week 1 to not receiving a target in Week 2. That should change in Week 3 if the Texans want to win. Fuller is the most familiar receiver with quarterback Deshaun Watson as they’ve played together for the past three seasons. I expect Fuller to find the endzone for the first time this year.
DeAndre Hopkins – Arizona Cardinals
Hopkins has been receiving a healthy amount of targets in his first two games in Arizona. Last week he found the endzone for the first time this season. The duo of Hopkins and Kyler Murray is blossoming well and I expect them to keep connecting in Week 3. Look for Hopkins to go for over 100 yards and score this week vs. the Lions.
Top 3 TEs
Jordan Reed – San Francisco 49ers
Reed was a revelation last week for the 49ers as he secured 2 TD catches and 24 fantasy points. With George Kittle out for the second week in a row, expect Reed to have a similar performance vs. the Giants. Nick Mullens will be starting in place of Jimmy Garoppolo this week, but I don’t expect their offense to change drastically. Reed will be Mullens’ security blanket this week.
Travis Kelce – Kanas City Chiefs
In Kelce’s three career contests vs. the Ravens, the Chiefs TE has had at least 6 receptions and 70+ yards in each game. In the 2019 matchup, a game that was also Week 3, Kelce was 7/89/0. If he can replicate that production on MNF and add a touchdown to his stat line, expect him to have his first top 3 performance.
Austin Hooper – Cleveland Browns
Now I know, Hooper has been practically non-existent through two weeks of the season. That makes me think that he is bound to have a game where he finally gets a healthy amount of targets. I think that happens this week vs. the Washington Football Team. In Week 1, Eagles TE Dallas Goedert was the leading fantasy TE with a stat line of 8/101/1 in a loss to Washington. Hooper looks to have his breakout game with his new team.
Top 3 DEF/STs
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Tampa Bay is on the road in Week 3 taking on the Denver Broncos. The Broncos are without starting QB Drew Lock, number 1 receiver Courtland Sutton and change of pace RB Phillip Lindsay is doubtful. Backup Jeff Driskel played feasible in Week 2 replacing Lock, almost pulling off a comeback. I don’t think that will be the case this week.
Indianapolis Colts
Well, the Colts play the New York Jets this week. I’m not sure if I need to say more than that. The Jets have been the worst team in the league thus far and it looks to continue in Week 3. The Colts were able to intercept Kirk Cousins three times and forced a safety. They may not be currently playing like it, but the Vikings are top to bottom a better team than the Jets.
Atlanta Falcons
The Falcons have had a rough start to the season. Last week’s meltdown had people referencing their ill-fated Super Bowl that they will seem to never live down. In a Week 3 matchup with the traveling Chicago Bears, I expect them to come out with some swagger and fired up to get that elusive first victory of 2020. The Giants were able to force 2 turnovers in a Week 2 matchup with the Bears and hold them to 17 points. I expect a better performance from the Falcons against the Bears offense.
Top 3 Kickers
Harrison Butker – Kansas City Chiefs
Butker has been one of the most consistent kickers in the league since being signed by the Chiefs. I expect the Chiefs to stall a couple of times in range of Butker’s boomstick of a leg. He’s perfect on the season so far in FG’s and PAT’s. Expect some long kicks from Butker Monday night.
Justin Tucker – Baltimore Ravens
Both kickers in the Monday night game should get their fair share of opportunities to show off their elite kicking ability. Tucker is also perfect on the season so far in FG’s and PAT’s. He’s also been one of the most reliable kickers since entering the league in 2012. He’ll definitely get the opportunity to kick some deep ones.
Mason Crosby – Green Bay Packers
Another kicker is perfect on the season in all of his opportunities, Crosby looks to have another good performance for the high powered Packers offense. The great thing is, he’s in a domed stadium for the second time in 3 weeks, so the outdoor elements won’t be a problem. I expect the Packers to score some touchdowns, while also having some opportunities for some field goals.
