Fantasy Football 2021: Week 13 Waiver Wire Pick Ups
It’s crunch time now, and congratulations if you are still competitive in lucky Week 13.
There are four teams on their bye week, Carolina Panthers, Cleveland Browns, Green Bay Packers, and Tennessee Titans. And there are numerous injuries you have to compensate for, so let’s get to it.
QUARTERBACKS
TAYSOM HILL, NEW ORLEANS SAINTS, 5% ROSTERED vs. DALLAS COWBOYS
This is a Thursday Night game so keep up with the news. Early reports are that Hill is now healthy and will take over the QB1 duties in New Orleans.
In the four games that he started last season, he finished as QB8. Hill’s rushing upside is what is sustainable.
The Cowboys are currently reeling with at least eight Covid cases and losing last Thursday in overtime to the Las Vegas Raiders, allowing Derek Carr to throw for 373 yards and rush for 21. Hill should make an impact in this game.
Also Consider, Teddy Bridgewater, Denver Broncos, 21% Rostered @ Kansas City Chiefs
WIDE RECEIVERS
RUSSELL GAGE, ATLANTA FALCONS, 17% ROSTERED vs. TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS
We all know that the Buccaneers rushing defense is ranked number one in allowing opponents rushing yards per game (81), but they are also ranked 20th in passing yards allowed per game (247.5).
Now Matt Ryan has not been the most dependable quarterback, but he has his full complement (minus Calvin Ridley of course) of players, which only bodes well for Gage. Last week Gage led all Falcons’ receivers with seven targets, six receptions, 62 receiving yards, and one touchdown.
The over/under in this game is 50.5, with the Bucs given a healthy -11, according to MyBookie.ag.
Also Consider, Josh Reynolds, Detroit Lions, 1% Rostered vs. Minnesota Vikings
RUNNING BACKS
CHUBA HUBBARD, CAROLINA PANTHERS, 37% ROSTERED, BYE WEEK
This is a bit unorthodox, but I cannot believe Hubbard is only 37% rostered. With Christian McCaffrey shut down for the rest of the season, Hubbard is the next man up. There is a caveat (well, a couple) Ameer Abdullah and Cam Newton could take some of the gloss away from Hubbard, and while he is a viable pick-up for Week 14, his schedule in fantasy playoffs is brutal.
Also Consider, Jamaal Williams, Detroit Lions, 39% Rostered vs. Minnesota
Alexander Mattison, Minnesota Vikings, 50% Rostered, @ Detroit Lions
TIGHT ENDS
FOSTER MOREAU, LAS VEGAS RAIDERS, 1% ROSTERED vs. WFT
The news on Darren Waller isn’t great, so his progress needs to be monitored. But @TFSDoc seems to think it might be an injury that lingers.
Moreau did fill in for Waller in Week 7 and finished with six targets, six receptions, 60 yards, and a touchdown.
The WFT is mid-range in fantasy points to the tight end. They have given up four touchdowns and an average of 8 fantasy points per game to the position.
Also Consider, James O’Shaughnessy, Jacksonville Jaguars, 0% Rostered @ Los Angeles Rams
CONCLUSION
It is crunch time so pay attention to reports coming out regarding the health of your favorite fantasy player. Don’t be afraid to attack the waiver wire to get the best match-up possible.
