It is about that time. In most fantasy football leagues, you are heading into the homestretch, so whether you have to win out to have a chance at the playoffs or feel like you are sailing right in, keeping an eye on the waiver wire has never been more important.
Week 11 teams on a bye, Denver Broncos, and theĀ Los Angeles Rams. Week 12 teams on a bye, Arizona Cardinals and Kansas City Chiefs.
Here is your Week 11 Waiver Wire adds.
QUARTERBACKS
Cam Newton, Carolina Panthers, 16% Rostered, vs. WFT
In limited action last week, Newton had one passing touchdown and one rushing touchdown. His upside has always been his ability to get you fantasy points on the ground, and it looks like it still is.
Now Newton will have a week of practice before meeting the WFT, who have given up the most fantasy points to the quarterback (24.8) entering Week 10.
The only caveat I have here is that Ron Rivera knows Newton well, and well, we see what happened in Dallas with a defensive coach who knows the opposing quarterback well.
Also Consider, Justin Fields, Chicago Bears, 25% Rostered vs. Baltimore Ravens
WIDE RECEIVERS
Marcus Johnson, Tennessee Titans, 0% Rostered, vs. Houston Texans
Julio Jones has been placed on IR. Last week that made Johnson WR2 in the Titans receiving corps. He led the wide receivers in targets (6), receptions (5), and yards (100). He ran the second-most routes and was on the field for the second-most snaps.
It isn’t clear what the Titans will do without Derrick Henry, as the run game is struggling, but the Titans keep winning as long as Ryan Tannehill can spread the ball around.
Also Consider, Robby Anderson, Carolina Panthers (if Newton starts), 39% Rostered vs. WFT
RUNNING BACKS
D’Onta Foreman, Tennessee Titans, 4% Rostered, vs. Houston Texans
I know, another Tennessee Titans player, but remember they have lost their number one running back, and their shiny new acquisition is currently on IR.
It’s not going to be pretty with the Titans, but fortunately, you don’t need style points. In Week 10, Foreman led the team in rushing attempts (11), receiving yards for running backs (48), and rushing yards (30).
This backfield without Derrick Henry will be a three-headed monster. So far, it appears that Foreman is the most productive.
Also Consider, Rhamondre Stevenson, New England Patriots, 32% Rostered, @ Atlanta Falcons
TIGHT ENDS
Dan Arnold, Jacksonville Jaguars, 26% Rostered, vs. San Francisco Niners
I feel the reluctance to roster Arnold because he is on a bad team. But he is the offense’s focal point on a team that will constantly be playing from behind.
In his last five games, he is eighth in fantasy points for tight ends. He has no less than five targets in those five games, and discounting the game against Miami, he has at least 60 receiving yards. Last week he led all Jaguars’ receivers with five receptions and 67 yards. It is time to invest in a good player on a bad team.
Also Consider, Tyler Conklin, Minnesota Vikings, 30% Rostered vs. Green Bay Packers
CONCLUSION
It’s been a rough two weeks (just me then?), but we power through. The season isn’t over yet!
