Waiver Wire Adds In Fantasy Football For Week 3 Of The NFL Season

With injuries occurring across the league and players still finding their groove for the 2025 NFL season, here are some fantasy football pickups that can potentially fill out your bench and help your team start down the road.

Fantasy Football Quarterback

Daniel Jones | Indianapolis Colts

No one expected it, but Danny Dimes seems all the way back, ranking as the QB2 through 2 weeks. The Colts offense is running on all cylinders, setting an NFL record with 10 scoring drives to start the season, thanks in large part to Jones. His upside as a rusher also gives him a boost, especially within the red zone, where he already has 3 rushing TDs on the year.

Running Back

Bhayshul Tuten | Jacksonville Jaguars

With the Jaguars shipping RB Tank Bigsby to the Philadelphia Eagles, it finally opened up opportunities for the 4th round rookie to produce.

A fantasy football homerun threat on every play, Tuten garnered 15.4 (PPR) fantasy points, despite playing on just 25% of the snaps on offense. As Tuten gradually eats into the workload of starting RB Travis Etienne, that production will only go up.

Jeremy McNichols | Washington Commanders

Austin Ekeler, unfortunately, suffered a season-ending Achilles injury, leaving the RB2 role open. McNichols should pick up most of the slack as the pass-catching back in this offense, while he rotates in with rookie RB Bill Croskey-Merritt.

He’ll be worth a flier on given his production in 2024, as the change of pace back, scoring above 10.0 (PPR) points twice.

Wide Receiver

Wan’Dale Robinson | New York Giants

If he isn’t already picked in your league, then he should be one of the top waiver wire claims this week.

Known as a PPR guy who gets peppered with short area targets, the former Kentucky Wildcat exploded with a 28.2 point performance (8 rec, 142 rec yards, 1 TD).

He’ll still be competing with Malik Nabers within this offense, but the 10 targets he received are a healthy indication that he’ll be heavily involved in the offense moving forward.

Elic Ayomanor | Tennessee Titans

The rookie out of Stanford showed out in Week 2, tying the team lead in targets with Calvin Ridley at 6. On the day he finished with 4 rec, 56 rec yards, and 1 TD, bringing his fantasy football point total to 15.6.

Playing over 73% of snaps across two weeks, his stock should continue to rise, especially as he lines up against the weaker CB each week.

Troy Franklin | Denver Broncos

Bo Nix’s former teammate at Oregon led the Broncos’ receiving corps on Sunday with 9 targets, capping the game with 8 rec, 89 rec yards, and 1 TD for 24 fantasy points.

Franklin is more of a boom-or-bust player, so those picking him up should have tempered expectations, especially if leading receiver Courtland Sutton has a bounce-back game against the Chargers.

Wrap Up

Hopefully, these players can add value to your fantasy football teams and even win you games, as every fantasy football manager continues to push for the playoffs and bring home the Lombardi, and avoid gruesome punishments.
