The dust just settled on the 2025 NFL Draft for the Las Vegas Raiders, but it’s never too early to start looking at the future.
Even after trading for veteran quarterback Geno Smith, many speculated that the Raiders would still draft a QB in 2025, which would allow the young signal caller to sit and learn behind Smith. This sentiment was further exemplified after Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders did a social media photo shoot with Smith, sparking excitement about the two joining forces in Sin City.
This would not come to fruition as the Raiders would select running back Ashton Jeanty in the first round, and then other positions of need throughout the remainder of the draft.
Smith signed a three-year deal, but depending on how this season goes, it may be wise for the Raiders to snag their QB of the future in next year’s deep class.
On3 just dropped a way-too-early 2026 mock draft, and they have the Silver and Black doing just that.

In On3’s 2026 mock, they have the Raiders sitting with the sixth overall pick, signaling a pretty bad 2025 season.
With that pick, Las Vegas selects the 3rd quarterback of the round, LaNorris Sellers out of South Carolina.

They have Texas QB Arch Manning going first overall, and Penn State QB Drew Allar going 2nd.
So much can change in a year, but Sellers is an extremely intriguing prospect. In his first season as the full-time starter last year, Sellers finished with 2,534 passing yards, 18 touchdowns, and 7 interceptions. He had a 65.6% completion percentage.

He also added 674 yards on the ground and 7 additional rushing touchdowns. He led the Gamecocks to a 9-4 overall record.
Still only 19 years old, Sellers is one of the top draft prospects heading into the 2025 season. If the Raiders are drafting in the Top 10 again next year, they may be forced to take a QB instead of waiting for Smith’s contract to run out.
