The dust has just settled on the 2025 NFL Draft, but that doesn’t mean that the Las Vegas Raiders roster is set in stone. There are still free agents available and potential trade candidates.
While the Raiders did draft Darien Porter in the 3rd round, the cornerback position is certainly one that could still use some star power.
The Miami Dolphins have made it known that their relationship with Jalen Ramsey is coming to an end, making him a trade candidate.

“I’ll always get on board with an afterthought attempting to right the ship in one offseason, but I’d be remiss to not point out the Raiders defense looks a little worse than it did a year ago. It would be ideal, then, to reverse that momentum on the defensive side by swinging a deal for a household name like Ramsey, who would look excellent in Silver and Black and instantly provide the Raiders with a respected cornerback in a secondary that could use some intimidation. With the second-most cap space available in the NFL right now (at $42.3 million, per Over The Cap), the Raiders have the financial power to get it done, too.”

The 7-time Pro Browler will turn 31 during the season, so he is on the back half of his career, but he would instantly be the most experienced and talented player in the DB room. He also brings a tenacity and swagger that would blend perfectly with Maxx Crosby on the defensive side.
Last season, he finished with 60 tackles, 6 tackles for loss, and 2 interceptions.
Ramsey just signed a contract extension last season that will see his cap number jump to over $25 million in 2026. While the Raiders could afford it, they will want to work out a deal that would have the Dolphins eat some of the cost.
There have been plenty of rumors about tight end Michael Mayer being a potential trade candidate. The Dolphins have Jonnu Smith, who had a really solid season last year, but is in the final year of his deal, so Mayer could make sense in a deal in exchange for Ramsey.
