As Shedeur Sanders might not know, Los Angeles Rams fans are accustomed to Sean McVay’s team saving its accomplishments for the regular season. However, even before the initial kickoff in September, McVay managed to pull something off with one hand tied behind his back.
Armed with backups against the previously presumptive first-round pick Sanders, McVay and defensive coordinator Chris Shula shut down the Cleveland Browns quarterback.
It was Shedeur Sanders’ final shot to turn the tide in the Cleveland Browns’ quarterback battle, and he faceplanted, getting benched before the end of the game for Tyler Huntley.
The battle against Sanders caught the ire of Skip Bayless, who delivered a scathing rant in a 16-minute diatribe on social media on Aug. 23.
“Today was a nightmare of a disaster because he got thrown in with fourth and fifth-stringers, trying to make a play, it went from bad to worse, it was hard to watch. … Just disgraceful. That’s what it was,” Bayless began.
“Just abjectly disgraceful on the part of Kevin Stefanski, who used to shame Baker Mayfield, remember that? I used to despise Stefanski for what he would do to Baker,” he continued. “He made Baker’s life impossible, and look at Baker now. … There’s no reason that Shedeur can’t become Baker Mayfield elsewhere. … get him the hell out of Cleveland. Get him out from under that wicked Kevin Stefanski.”
Of course, Bayless didn’t give any credit to the Rams, who managed to come back against Sanders while he was in the game, getting a lead before Huntley came in with the element of surprise to lead one final last-second drive.

Shula’s Rams held Sanders to three of six completions for 14 yards and sacked him five times for a loss of an eye-watering 41 yards.
The Rams were down 16-7 going into halftime, eventually getting a 17-16 lead before giving up a final field goal at the end of the contest to lose 17-19.
Exploring One Scenario That Could Bring Shedeur Sanders To The Los Angeles Rams
Bayless implored the football gods to get Shedeur Sanders out of Cleveland, but didn’t offer any suggestions about where might suit him. If he did leave, where would he go? The Rams could make sense, but only if a series of events were to take place.
Bayless mentioned Mayfield, the former Browns quarterback McVay has seen up close and personal and arguably gotten the best out of him in the shortest amount of time, helping to uncork a 51-14 Christmas blowout of the Denver Broncos.
If McVay feels confident that he could replicate a similar feat with Sanders and the quarterback also comes free of the Browns, the move could logically happen.
Of course, this assumes the Rams already cleared house with at least their backup quarterback roster by the time Sanders would theoretically be released or placed on the trade block.
Matthew Stafford won’t be around forever, and McVay has already taken one quarterback from a humbling rookie season to the Promised Land before (Jared Goff), so it is far from impossible. The ingredients are there. Will the Rams make the stew?
