3 Potential Los Angeles Rams Trade Candidates, Featuring Davante Adams

The Los Angeles Rams spent most of the year adding players to their roster. However, they’re reaching a period of the calendar in which there will be more players leaving than joining.

Of course, while most of the players to be sent away will be during the roster cutdown later this month, it doesn’t mean the Rams won’t say goodbye to other names later on.

Here’s a look at three notable players who could be gone by the trade deadline.

Tyler Higbee, Los Angeles Rams, TE

The Rams spent their top pick on rookie Terrance Ferguson, which puts the writing on the wall for Tyler Higbee. The franchise’s tight end for years could be sent away this season as the team appears to be interested in turning the page.

Whether Higbee survives the year seems largely determined by how Ferguson does. If he explodes, it would make more practical sense for the Rams to try to get something in return instead of letting his contract expire at the end of the season.

It is worth noting that as of today, Ferguson is pretty low down the depth chart with both Colby Parkinson and Davis Allen, along with Higbee, ahead of him. It will take a lot for him to push out Higbee, but never say never.

Davante Adams, WR

There was a lot of hype for Davante Adams, whose addition has almost universally been seen as the sequel step for the Los Angeles Rams moving on from Cooper Kupp. However, signing Adams was a risk as the wide receiver heads into an age-33 season.

If the wide receiver doesn’t produce in line with expectations and the Rams find themselves hovering around 3-5 to start the season, it might leave the team no choice.

Per Spotrac, the team has a potential out window in 2026, so the choice to move on from Adams wouldn’t be jumping the gun by more than a few months.

Of course, it likely would take a disaster for Adams to be sent away, but as someone in potentially the final moments of his best years on the field, he would have reason to ask to be traded to a contender if the Rams find themselves in a hole.

Stetson Bennett, QB

Stetson Bennett had arguably the most impactful performance of his career against the Dallas Cowboys (and an opposite one from his last performance against the team when he threw four interceptions), which is why the Rams have the perfect reason to attempt to net some draft capital, or a player, for the quarterback.

If Bennett treads water in the preseason and leaves the Cowboys game as his best of the 2025 preseason, the Rams could decide they’ve seen his ceiling.

That said, another team could see greater potential in him, which opens the door to potentially getting a player and/or a pick.
