Rams Share Positive WR Update After Latest Puka Nacua Injury Setback

The Los Angeles Rams are preparing for a critical Week 7 matchup in London against the Jacksonville Jaguars, but the passing game could be without its top weapon. Star wide receiver Puka Nacua is likely to miss the game after suffering a sprained ankle in the Rams’ 17-3 victory over the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, leaving a potential void in Los Angeles’ high-powered offense.

Fortunately for quarterback Matthew Stafford, speedster Tutu Atwell is expected to return after missing the Baltimore game with a hamstring injury. Head coach Sean McVay confirmed Monday that Atwell (hamstring) is on track to play in Week 7, a major boost for a passing attack that will now need a field-stretcher in Nacua’s absence.

“Atwell (hamstring) is expected to return Week 7 against the Jaguars,” per ESPN’s Sarah Barshop. In his first few weeks, Atwell had limited involvement, but he has emerged as a big-play threat recently, highlighted by an 88-yard touchdown reception against the Colts. Over the last two games before Baltimore, he totaled 3 catches for 160 yards and a score, showing the explosiveness he can bring to the offense.

Filling the Void on the Rams Offense

With Nacua sidelined, Davante Adams will continue as the focal point of the passing attack, while Kyren Williams and other skill players will need to pick up additional snaps. Atwell’s presence is crucial in keeping defenses honest and preventing opponents from stacking the box or shading heavily toward Adams.

If Atwell were to miss the game, Jordan Whittington would likely see a significant increase in snaps, particularly in three-receiver sets, as Los Angeles adapts to the absence of one of its most dynamic threats.

The Rams will need Stafford to distribute the ball efficiently and get contributions from multiple weapons to keep the offense clicking as they chase a crucial NFC West victory in London.
