The Los Angeles Rams announced Monday that wide receiver Tutu Atwell has been moved to the reserve/injured list, sidelining him for the near term. Atwell suffered a hamstring injury in practice, forcing him to miss the Rams’ game against the Baltimore Ravens, head coach Sean McVay confirmed. It is not known if his hamstring injury is the reason for the roster move.

Tutu Atwell’s Impact For The Rams This Season

This Puka-Flex T-Shirt Is Illegal In Philly
Atwell’s 2025 campaign began quietly. Despite signing a one-year, $10 million contract, he spent much of the early season in the shadows of Puka Nacua and Davante Adams. Through the first three games, Atwell had only one target in each contest, and just two against the Indianapolis Colts. Yet, his explosiveness remained evident. On September 28 at SoFi Stadium, he turned a midrange Matthew Stafford pass into an 88-yard game-winning touchdown, helping the Rams beat the Colts 27-20 in front of 71,257 fans.
McVay praised Atwell’s versatility and big-play potential. “I think what’s great about Tutu is whatever he’s asked…he’s really answered the bell,” McVay said. “The moment’s not too big. He loves it. I think he plays big and he’s shown that he’s consistently ready to go depending upon what’s asked of him.”
Atwell has a history of stepping up when the team needs it. Last season, when Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua missed multiple weeks, he led the Rams in receptions and receiving yards, proving his ability to deliver under pressure.
Looking Ahead
While Atwell’s move to injured reserve is a setback, McVay emphasized that the team is “being smart, easing him back in,” and that his rehab is trending positively. When healthy, Atwell’s speed and playmaking ability could once again provide a dynamic option for Stafford and the high-powered offense as they aim to remain competitive in the NFC West.
