The Los Angeles Rams took on the Baltimore Ravens on the road in Maryland in their Week 6 matchup and got the victory 17-3, increasing their record to 4-2 on the season. But this win didn’t occur without some concerns for their star wide receiver, Puka Nacua.
Nacua was injured in the 2nd quarter while trying to catch a pass in the end zone and landed harshly, appearing to suffer a leg/foot injury. Trainers attended to him, and he limped to the locker room to be evaluated. Nacua did end up returning to the game, per reports, but wasn’t very involved in the offense. Nacua ended the game with 2 catches for 28 yards.
Wide receiver Davante Adams and tight end Tyler Higbee picked up the slack, with Adams having 4 catches for 39 yards and Higbee catching the ball 4 times for 40 yards and a touchdown.
Adam Schefter reported that Rams’ head Coach Sean McVay said Puka Nacua is dealing with an ankle injury and is unsure if he’ll play against the Jaguars next week.
Nacua has 54 receptions for 616 yards and 2 touchdowns on the season. Nacua leads the league in catches and yards currently. But with Nacua possibly out next week, what does this mean for the Rams’ offense?

Puka has missed multiple games in his career due to injury, some of which occurred during the game and he was ruled out to return, and others where he was listed as inactive and didn’t play at all.
For example, in Week 1 vs the Detroit Lions in 2024, Nacua left the game with a knee injury and did not return. In that game, they lost 26-20 in overtime. The leading receiver for that contest was Cooper Kupp, who had 14 receptions for 110 yards and a touchdown. Another example of Nacua’s absence was in Week 18 of the 2024 season against the Seattle Seahawks, where they lost 30-25.
With Puka Nacua possibly not playing against the Jaguars in London next week, Davante Adams, Tutu Atwell, Tyler Higbee, and Kyren Williams, among others, will need to step up. Adams is more than capable of filling the void as he’s one of the best receivers of this era and in NFL History. Adams may be the #2 on this team, but he still can be the go-to target for quarterback Matthew Stafford.
