Nacua suffered the injury in the third quarter after taking a carry and immediately appeared to favor his upper body — potentially his shoulder or chest area. Trainers escorted him to the locker room shortly after, and the team later announced he was questionable to return with a chest injury.
Before his exit, Nacua was having one of his best performances of the season, recording seven receptions for 95 yards and a touchdown, along with one carry for three yards. His early production had been a major factor in keeping Los Angeles competitive against a tough New Orleans defensive line.
From Return to Setback
Sunday’s game marked Nacua’s return to full strength after missing time with an ankle injury suffered in Week 6 against the Baltimore Ravens. He sat out the Rams’ Week 7 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars before benefitting from the team’s Week 8 bye. Head coach Sean McVay had listed him as fully healthy entering the Saints matchup, with no limitations.
Through eight games this season, the standout receiver has tallied 54 catches for 616 yards, continuing his rise as one of the Rams’ most dynamic playmakers. The team hopes his latest injury proves minor, as Nacua’s presence remains critical to Los Angeles’ offensive rhythm.
