Davante Adams carried a questionable designation into Week 4 against the Indianapolis Colts due to a hamstring injury that surfaced after the Los Angeles Rams’ loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. Head coach Sean McVay expressed confidence Adams would play, and he did just that, finishing with four receptions for 56 yards and a touchdown in the Rams’ 27-20 win.
Although Adams is no longer on the Week 5 injury report, he admitted on Tuesday that he’s still not completely healthy. “Good. Much, much better,” Adams said of his hamstring. “I wouldn’t say it’s 100%, but this game is not 100% health for really anybody. I felt a lot better than how I thought I would. I feel a lot better now than what I thought I’d feel after [last week’s game].”
Adams acknowledged the physical challenge of playing two games in five days but added that he feels “pretty good” heading into Thursday’s divisional matchup with the San Francisco 49ers. Through four games, Adams has been a steady force, tallying 17 catches for 269 yards and three touchdowns.

The Rams’ injury picture extends beyond their star receiver. Left guard Steve Avila, who has been battling a sprained ankle since Week 1, was once again a storyline in Week 4. Though Avila wasn’t listed with an injury designation, McVay opted to start Justin Dedich instead, citing Avila’s continued recovery. Avila was a full participant in Tuesday’s estimated practice, but McVay has not committed to his availability for Week 5.
On the right side of the line, veteran tackle Rob Havenstein (ankle) was estimated as a non-participant Tuesday. Tight end Tyler Higbee, dealing with a hip injury, also sat out the walkthrough. McVay has given no indication that either will be sidelined Thursday, but their status remains worth monitoring with a short turnaround.
Looking Ahead to Week 5
Los Angeles is preparing for a primetime clash with the 49ers, a game that could help shape the early NFC West race. With Adams trending upward and Avila nearing a return, the Rams appear close to full strength. Still, lingering concerns on the offensive line could play a factor as they face one of the league’s most physical defensive fronts.
