Rams WR Davante Adams Injury Status Shared By Insider

Los Angeles Rams star wide receiver Davante Adams left Sunday’s 41-34 win over the Detroit Lions after suffering a non-contact hamstring injury. Ian Rapoport reported that Adams is now considered week-to-week, noting the injury is “simply an aggravation of what he was previously dealing with, not a new injury.” The update suggests Adams will likely miss Thursday night’s matchup against the Seattle Seahawks.

Adams, who had been managing a mild hamstring issue over the past couple of weeks, appeared to worsen the injury on a deep route with 12:42 remaining in the game. The veteran receiver pulled up near the end of the route and fell to the ground, lying on his stomach, helmet down, signaling the severity of the injury. Despite the setback, he was able to walk off the field under his own power.

Before leaving the game, Adams had registered 71 yards on four receptions, maintaining his status as one of quarterback Matthew Stafford’s top targets. He leads the NFL with 14 receiving touchdowns this season and entered Week 15 with 56 catches for 718 yards, second on the Rams behind Puka Nacua.

“He was optimistic. He knows his body really well,” Rams coach Sean McVay said. “We’ll see what that means. I can’t imagine that’s good for Thursday with just the short amount of time, but I certainly wouldn’t rule him out quite yet. But it didn’t look good.”

Stafford weighed in on Adams’ situation, emphasizing the importance of his teammates stepping up. “That’ll be a tough one. I don’t know the extent of it. Didn’t look like it was a good one, so I feel so tough for him. He’s been a warrior for us all year. Playing out there for us. We’ll see. I got a lot of faith and trust in the other guys that we have in our locker room and our coaching staff to put us in a great position to go out there, let our play do the talking and just go play.”

Performance Before the Injury

The Rams, currently the top seed in the NFC West, have three regular-season games remaining: Thursday against Seattle, followed by the Atlanta Falcons and Arizona Cardinals. Rapoport noted that “the hope” is Adams will return for the playoffs, adding, “Hard to imagine he’s out there before he’s fully healthy, but the MRI will tell the story.”

If Los Angeles wins on Thursday without Adams, the team could afford to rest him in the final two games, potentially securing a first-round playoff bye and giving Adams four weeks to recover fully before the divisional round.
