The Los Angeles Rams are having a heck of a season as they’re 7-2 and 2nd in the NFC West to the Seattle Seahawks. The Rams are fresh off a 42-26 Week 10 victory against the rival San Francisco 49ers, which was a payback game for the 23-26 overtime defeat they suffered to San Francisco back in Week 5. Quarterback Matthew Stafford has been leading the team to victories, and he may be leading himself to the NFL MVP.

Matthew Stafford MVP Consideration

Matthew Stafford has had a tremendous year thus far for LA. In their Week 10 matchup vs the 49ers, Stafford went 24/36 for 280 yards passing and 4 touchdowns. The Rams’ offense was firing on all cylinders, and Sean McVay’s scheme has been proven to be one of the best in the NFL. Stafford is immensely talented and can throw the ball from any angle. His seemingly no-look throws have been a highlight for him throughout his career.
In nine games played up to this point in 2025, Stafford has thrown for 2,427 yards, 25 touchdowns, and only 2 interceptions. Against the 49ers on Sunday, November 9th, Stafford eclipsed a milestone, which was his 400th career passing touchdown, and he was also named the ‘Tom Brady LFG Player of the Game’. But it doesn’t stop there in the same game, Stafford became the first Rams quarterback to have 4+ passing touchdowns in three straight games.
Competition For The Rams QB
Stafford has solidified himself as the MVP frontrunner. He’s competing with players like Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor, who just had 244 rushing yards and 3 touchdowns against the Atlanta Falcons in Germany, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield, who’s thrown for 2,192 yards and 16 touchdowns to only 2 interceptions. Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold is carving himself a place in the MVP conversation, throwing for 2,262 yards and 17 touchdowns to 6 interceptions thus far this season. Those are some of the great players that Stafford’s up against for the MVP, but right now, it’s his award to lose.
The Los Angeles Rams will take on the Seattle Seahawks in their Week 11 game on Sunday. Seattle is 7-2 off a 44-22 victory against the Arizona Cardinals. The Seahawks are currently 1st in the NFC West while LA is 2nd.
