Day 2 of Los Angeles Rams Training Camp brought more clarity to key position battles, personnel groupings, and player development. From rising wideouts to evolving defensive rotations, here’s a complete breakdown of the action on and off the field.
Los Angeles Rams Standouts A Observations
Jordan Whittington
Whittington continued to stack strong practices, flashing with consistent catches and physicality. He’s firmly in the mix for WR3 reps. He also took some reps at KR/PR, indicating he could continue his role from last season.
Britain Covey
Got meaningful work in the return game, especially fielding punts. His experience and quickness make him a strong candidate for the lead punt return role.
Davis Allen
Took multiple reps with the first-team offense at tight end. With Tyler Higbee (89) on rest, Allen is getting valuable looks in camp.

Starting Offensive Line
The first group featured 68 (David Quessenberry), 69 (Kevin Dotson), 65 (Coleman Shelton), 72 (D.J. Humphries), and 73 (Steve Avila). That unit continues to get early reps together, showing consistency across practices.
Havenstein was on veteran rest, and Alaric Jackson is still dealing with the blood clots.
Secondary Rotation
DBs rotating in included 26 (Kamren Kinchens), 31 (Darious Williams), 3 (Kam Curl), 37 Quentin Lake, 25 (Emmanuel Forbes Jr.), and 14 (Cobie Durant).
The Los Angeles Rams are experimenting with combinations of veterans and youth across the back end. Akhello Witherspoon looked to be on veteran rest as well.
Linebacker Coverage
Inside backers in coverage included 48 (Omar Speights) and 53 (Nate Landman), both getting plenty of looks in passing situations.
Terrance Ferguson
Had one of the most impressive reps of the day, muscling past Quentin Lake (37) and making a catch that made him look more like a wide receiver than a tight end. He saw heavy usage throughout practice and continues to flash upside.

Puka Nacua
Made a strong catch over the middle and looked his usual physical, sure-handed self. Nacua’s chemistry with the QBs remains a major camp highlight.
Kyren Williams
Heavily involved in the passing game, catching multiple balls out of the backfield. Williams looks like a featured weapon in both phases.
Brennan Jackson
Rotated in with the defensive line group and showed good motor and power. He’s quietly building momentum in camp.
Jimmy Garoppolo
Had an up-and-down day—Underthrew Tutu Atwell on a deep route and held onto the ball too long a few times. Still working through timing with his targets.
Tanner Ingle
Nearly picked off a pass during team drills. His instincts and reaction time have been a bright spot in the safety room.
Jared Verse And The Defensive Line
Verse consistently applied pressure and showed explosive burst off the edge. His urgency stood out throughout team reps.

Blake Corum
Broke off a long run during team period, showing excellent burst and vision. His one-cut ability continues to impress.
Stetson Bennett
Showed off his legs on a scramble but missed Ferguson on a red zone slant. Still showing growth in his timing and decision-making.
Second-Team Defense Rotation
Reps went to players including 27 (A.J. Green), 41 (Josaiah Stewart), 40 (Tony Fields II), 93 (Jack Heflin), 51 (Troy Reeder), 39 (Malik Dixon-Williams), 33 (Cam Lampkin), and 43 (Nate Valcarcel).
Offensive Versatility
The Los Angeles Rams are fully leaning into their depth. Between Williams, Whittington, Adams, and Nacua, they’re building an offense full of interchangeable skill sets. Kyren, in particular, was deployed out of the backfield to catch passes a lot more.
Jared Verse On Training With Aaron Donald
Rookie edge rusher Jared Verse shared what he took from his offseason workout with Aaron Donald:
“It was definitely the mindset that, like, you gotta keep going. The one thing he kept saying throughout the whole workout … Think of the fourth quarter. Like, everyone’s good the first and the second, third, but what about the fourth? That’s where you make your money, that’s where you make your money. He kept saying, he’s saying it loud and proud.”
That edge showed in how Verse approached every drill.
