The Los Angeles Rams placed starting cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon on injured reserve after breaking his clavicle on Sunday against the Tennessee Titans. It has only been two weeks, but he is having a standout season, and the Rams hope to get him back as soon as possible.
Head Coach Sean McVay told reporters on Monday that he didn’t believe that the injury would require surgery, but that it would likely be a 12-week recovery. He did not rule out Witherspoon returning before the end of the season.
In light of this tough injury, the Los Angeles Rams just signed free agent Tre Brown.

Los Angeles Rams Sign CB Tre Brown
Tre Brown was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in the 4th round of the 2021 NFL Draft. He spent 4 seasons there and had his best production in 2023, where he registered 34 total tackles, 1 sack, 2 forced fumbles, 6 passes defensed, and 2 interceptions.
After his rookie contract expired, he signed with the San Francisco 49ers this past offseason. He did not make the final 53-man roster and was waived after training camp.

Rams CB Darious Williams saw zero snaps until Witherspoon went down with the injury in Week 2. He will likely slide in as the starting corner alongside Emmanuel Forbes. Cobie Durant will likely see his usage increase as well.
Brown will be brought in as a depth piece, but with how the Rams use their defensive backs, do not be surprised if he sees the field sooner rather than later.
