Los Angeles Rams Named Good Fit For Young ‘Specimen’ Trapped In A Loaded Room

As the 2025 NFL season approaches, the Los Angeles Rams are still seeking pieces to solidify their roster. After parting ways with Cooper Kupp and Demarcus Robinson this offseason, the team could use more depth behind stars Puka Nacua and Davante Adams. One name that’s emerged as a potential trade target is Green Bay Packers wideout Romeo Doubs, an idea floated by Bleacher Report.

Doubs, 25, is entering the final year of his rookie deal and faces stiff competition in Green Bay’s crowded receiver room. The Packers drafted two more pass-catchers — Matthew Golden (first round) and Savion Williams (third) — to go along with returners Jayden Reed and Christian Watson. With Doubs playing for his next contract and the Packers focused on developing younger talent, a trade could make sense for both sides.

Los Angeles Rams passing game coordinator Aubrey Pleasant has past ties to Doubs, having worked with him during his rookie season in Green Bay. That familiarity could ease the transition and maximize Doubs’ impact in Sean McVay’s offense.

While 2024 was a turbulent year for Doubs — including a suspension for missing team activities and two concussions — he rebounded with strong performances midseason. He finished the year with 47 catches and five touchdowns despite limited action, pushing his three-year career totals to 147 receptions, 1,700 yards, and 15 scores.

“I’m going to be completely honest with you, man, is there some regret behind that?” Doubs said recently of the suspension. “There is, but what’s in the past stays in the past.”

Packers head coach Matt LaFleur praised Doubs’ offseason approach, calling him “a specimen” and “a guy who’s just worked.” Still, with Doubs unlikely to see a major role in Green Bay’s offense, the Los Angeles Rams could capitalize and add a reliable, ascending receiver at a low cost.

For a team aiming to stay competitive in a loaded NFC West, a Romeo Doubs trade might be the next smart move for the Los Angeles Rams.
