Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers has completed meetings with ten NFL teams at the 2025 NFL Combine, including the Los Angeles Rams. Los Angeles Rams Met With Quinn Ewers Ahead Of 2024 NFL Draft

Ewers is poised to be a compelling quarterback prospect in this year’s draft. While he was previously considered a potential first-round selection, his draft position may now fall into the middle rounds, contingent on his performance throughout the draft process.

Last fall, Ewers was compared to Matthew Stafford by former NFL player and media personality Emmanuel Acho; “WOW! Checkout this no look pass by Texas Quarterback, Quinn Ewers 🔥🔥 1st round pick stuff right here, shades of Matthew Stafford in the Super Bowl vs the Bengals.”

In the season opener against Colorado State on Saturday, Quinn Ewers delivered a commanding performance. He efficiently completed 20 passes for 260 yards, with three of those completions resulting in touchdowns, contributing significantly to a decisive 52-0 victory. Notably, during the game, he also executed a remarkable no-look pass in the red zone.

Ewers, currently 21 years old, began his college career at Ohio State before transferring to Texas in 2022. He earned second-team All-Big 12 honors in 2023. Notably, Ewers chose to return to Texas last year rather than enter the NFL draft.

Quinn Ewers, the highly touted quarterback from Southlake, Texas, has taken an unconventional route to the NFL draft. His journey began with an early Division I offer from North Texas in sixth grade. At Carroll Senior High School, he emerged as the nation’s top-ranked recruit, showcasing his talent with 6,445 passing yards and 73 touchdowns in just 22 games. Driven by the potential for Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) opportunities, he reclassified and enrolled early at Ohio State, where he saw limited action with just two snaps before transferring back to his home state of Texas.

Ewers’ three-year tenure as the Longhorns’ starting quarterback resulted in 7,378 passing yards and 56 touchdowns, contributing to consecutive College Football Playoff appearances for Texas. His junior season featured a record-setting 452-yard performance in the Big 12 Championship and a five-touchdown display against Florida. Notably, he led the Longhorns to eight consecutive road victories, including significant wins at Michigan and Alabama.

In the 2024 season, the 6 foot 2, 210-pounder earned semifinalist honors for the Maxwell Award and Walter Camp Award, while also maintaining a 20-game touchdown streak, second only to Colt McCoy in program history.

Despite a brief, controversial benching against Georgia mid-season, he rebounded to lead Texas to the SEC Championship game. He concluded his collegiate career with 27 wins, surpassing McCoy for the most quarterback wins in school history.
