NFL Network’s Jordan Schultz reports that Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe has a series of upcoming pre-draft visits scheduled with the New York Giants, Los Angeles Rams, and Seattle Seahawks, following a recent meeting with the Cleveland Browns earlier this week. Milroe’s name has been generating increasing buzz in recent weeks, positioning him as an intriguing prospect in the upcoming 2025 NFL Draft.
For the Rams, while their immediate needs in the earlier rounds of the draft may lie elsewhere, the organization would be wise to consider addressing areas that require future security. One such area, perhaps surprisingly to some, is the quarterback position.
Los Angeles Rams Gathering Info On Several Quarterbacks

Yesterday, it was reported that the team had spent significant time meeting with Ole Miss QB Jaxson Dart.
While Matthew Stafford currently provides a high level of play, the reality of his veteran status and the finite nature of a professional football career necessitate a long-term perspective. Stafford’s return has indeed provided the franchise with stability for the next few seasons, but the Rams would be prudent to explore potential successors in this year’s draft. Their current backup, Jimmy Garoppolo, is also a seasoned player, further underscoring the need to groom a younger quarterback for the future.
Former Las Vegas Raiders general manager Mike Mayock believes that the Rams should strongly consider selecting Milroe if he is available in the later rounds of the draft, where he is currently projected. Mayock envisions a developmental opportunity for Milroe in Los Angeles, drawing a parallel to the situation in Green Bay where a young quarterback can learn behind a seasoned veteran.
“You get him in LA playing behind Matthew Stafford, learning every day, similar to a Green Bay situation with an aging quarterback. What a veteran quarterback will do for a rookie is they’ll use him to help them prepare every week,” Mayock stated.
He further elaborated on the potential synergy between Milroe and the Rams’ coaching staff, adding, “If Milroe goes to the Rams and plays behind Stafford with Sean McVay, who’s one of the best couple of play callers out there, with that offensive staff, I think he’d have a real chance to develop.” This scenario would allow Milroe to learn and grow within a well-regarded offensive system under an experienced quarterback and a highly respected coach.
