As the initial flurry of NFL free agency subsides, the Los Angeles Rams have been actively managing their roster. They’ve prioritized retaining key players, successfully re-signing four of their own, while also strategically adding external talent to bolster their lineup.
With the immediate free agency period concluding, attention naturally shifts to the team’s future. The question now becomes: how does the Rams’ 2025 free-agent class look in the wake of these recent transactions? With a few obvious needs and several quality free agents available, the Rams still have time to add to their roster.
Los Angeles Rams Free Agency: Day 3 Best Fits
Rams Free Agency Fit: CB, Asante Samuel Jr

The Rams face a rough future in the defensive backfield. Darious Williams is 32 and three prominent DBs are playing on the final year of their rookie contracts — meaning the Rams have to start planning for the future. At just 25 years old, with four solid years under his belt, Asante Samuel Jr. is worth bringing on.
In his first year under defensive coordinator Jesse Minter, Samuel’s performance diverged from his previous consistency. After achieving PFF coverage grades of 75.6 or higher in each of the preceding two seasons, Samuel encountered early challenges. His season was further truncated when he was placed on injured reserve with a shoulder injury after just four games.
Moreover, Samuel’s tackling, an area that has presented recurring issues throughout his career, saw a marked decline. He missed a substantial 22.2% of his tackling attempts, highlighting a significant area of concern. Despite these setbacks, Samuel’s relative youth, his established pedigree, and his accumulated experience are likely to remain attractive qualities for potential suitors.

Rams Free Agency Fit: LB, Kyzir White
The Rams have just one linebacker with game experience on the roster currently, Omar Speights, and he is coming off a rookie season. Kyzir White would inject experience and help cut down on missed tackles which plague the team last year.
Having transitioned from a college safety to a versatile linebacker, White is poised to join his fourth NFL team this spring. Despite lacking exceptional size, length, or raw strength, his comprehensive skill set makes him a desirable free agent. White demonstrates a keen ability to quickly penetrate gaps and has shown marked improvement in his instincts, coupled with a willingness to engage physically.
His speed is a significant asset, both in pursuit and in coverage situations. While there’s room for improvement in his zone coverage awareness, he excels at effectively transitioning routes in his vicinity and displays comfort in locating and playing the ball in the air. For a team that missed out on the top-tier linebacker option, White represents a compelling and valuable alternative.
Rams Free Agency Fit: RB, JK Dobbins

The Rams have a solid RB1 on the team, Kyren Williams, but they lacked explosivity in the run game. JK Dobbins offers just that.
Dobbins’ NFL career has been punctuated by persistent injuries, limiting him to just 37 appearances out of a possible 84 games over five seasons. Despite these setbacks, his talent as a runner is undeniable, evidenced by his impressive career average of 5.2 yards per carry.
In 2024, coming off a torn Achilles and playing behind an offensive line that struggled with run blocking, Dobbins still managed to average 4.6 yards per carry. He even achieved a career-best in rushing yards, despite missing four games due to a knee injury. The questions surrounding Dobbins’ future revolve around his potential for improvement in 2025, the quality of his offensive line’s blocking, and his ability to maintain his health. Regardless of these uncertainties, it’s reasonable to expect that Dobbins will command a contract exceeding the $1.6 million he earned in 2024.
