The Los Angeles Rams entered the three-day NFL Draft with eight selections, including just their second first-round pick since 2016 to work with. Compared to their recent drafts, that was a relatively low number. Last year, they had 10 picks, and the year before, they had 14.
Unlike the overused and misapplied “F Them Picks” motto suggests, general manager Les Snead has accumulated the most selections over the last few years. But this year, the team bucked that trend, starting in the first round.
In a move roundly praised, the Rams traded their first- and third-round selections (26th and 101st overall) to the Atlanta Falcons in exchange for second and seventh-round selections (46th and 242nd overall), and a 2026 first-round selection.
Los Angeles Rams Draft Day Trade Results in McVay Era First

While adding a first in 2026, the Rams’ pick count remained eight selections, four of which were in the fourth round, but they then started to trade up to make picks. A move that felt very un-Snead.
- Trade with the Indianapolis Colts: LA traded up in the fourth round, sending their 127th and 190th overall picks to the Colts in exchange for the 117th overall pick. With this pick, they selected Auburn running back Jarquez Hunter.
- Trade with the Chicago Bears: LA traded up in the fifth round, sending the 195th overall pick and a 2026 fourth-round pick to the Bears in exchange for the 148th overall pick. With this pick, the Rams selected Ohio State defensive lineman Ty Hamilton.
- Trade with the Minnesota Vikings: LA traded to acquire the 172nd overall pick in exchange for two sixth-round selections (201st and 202nd overall). With that pick, they selected Ole Miss inside linebacker Chris Paul Jr.
The result was that the Rams ended the draft with just six selections. Only three teams had fewer picks: the Atlanta Falcons, the Minnesota Vikings, and the Washington Commanders. This is the fewest picks the Rams have had in the Sean McVay era, and only the second time in Snead’s time with the Rams. The last time they were limited to six picks was in 2016, when they traded up for franchise quarterback Jared Goff.
