The Los Angeles Rams have been on a roll, winning four straight to climb to 7-2. A major reason for their success has been veteran wide receiver Davante Adams, who has been outstanding through nine games. Adams suffered an oblique injury in Week 10, but recent reports suggest he will take the field in Week 11.
Rams Share Davante Adams’ Injury Update
Brock Vierra later reported that McVay expects Adams to play in Week 11: “Per Sean McVay: Davante Adams will not practice, but he is expected to play this week.”
During Week 10 against the 49ers, Adams pulled in six receptions for 77 yards and a touchdown. In the fourth quarter, he struggled to complete a route and grabbed at his lower back before leaving the field with a trainer. He was initially listed as questionable with a back injury.
Head coach Sean McVay later clarified that the issue was actually an oblique injury. “He got his oblique. Think he probably could have come back if it was a little bit closer, kinda similar to Puka last week. But he was outstanding today. You really felt his presence early and often in the game, comes away with another touchdown,” McVay said.
Adams himself offered an upbeat assessment, noting the injury was “biting a little bit in the game” but that he is “feeling better now.”

Impact on the Rams’ Offense
Adams has been a cornerstone of the Rams’ high-powered attack, recording 42 receptions for 568 yards and a league-leading nine touchdowns through nine games. His presence gives quarterback Matthew Stafford a go-to target in crucial situations, especially in the red zone.
As Adams explained to SI’s Albert Breer, the Rams’ offense is built to create mismatches: “The way Sean’s able to dial it up obviously puts us in great position, and makes it tough on defenses. They see 13-personnel go out there, a bunch of tight ends, they think it’s run-heavy and we go out and run play-action… Sean’s a great play-caller and we got a lot of weapons at each position, to the point where we can do whatever we want.”

Adams added that the system in Los Angeles has reinvigorated him: “It starts from the top down. There’s great ownership here, general manager’s a G, and the head coach is who he is… when you look at the roster, we’ve got everything else in place, a winning team, winning culture as well. It’s a lot of fun to be a part of something like this. It just brings out the best in me.”

Looking Ahead to Week 11

The Rams host the Seahawks in a key matchup between two 7-2 teams. With Adams expected to play, Los Angeles maintains a major weapon in its offense as it seeks to extend its winning streak. While his participation in practice is limited, McVay’s confidence signals that the team will have its star wideout available to take on Seattle’s defense.
Adams’ return could be the difference-maker as the Rams aim to continue their dominant run through the NFC.
