The decision not to trade Kupp at the time proved correct as the team rebounded from a slow start to achieve a 10-7 record, clinching the NFC West division title. The Rams subsequently advanced to the playoffs, defeating the Minnesota Vikings in the Wild Card round before ultimately falling to the Philadelphia Eagles.

In an effort to facilitate a trade for Cooper Kupp, the Rams are reportedly willing to absorb a portion of his 2025 salary. By assuming $7.5 million of Kupp’s $20 million salary, the Rams aim to make him a more attractive trade target for other teams.
