The Los Angeles Rams have just one official day left of training camp – August 2 — before heading into their preseason ramp up, which includes a joint practice against the Dallas Cowboys and the Los Angeles Chargers.
The Rams have been counted among the lucky teams that have not lost a starter to a serious injury thus far in training camp. But with football comes the inevitable knicks and bruises. Three notable players were sidelined or left Saturday’s highly competitive padded practice with ailments — interior defensive lineman Kobie Turner, free agent addition linebacker Nate Landman, and rookie tight end Terrance Ferguson.
Both Ferguson and Turner made their way to the practice field in street clothes, while Landman left the field mid-way through practice.
In Turner’s place, the team increased reps for Tyler Davis, Desjuan Johnson, and Ty Hamilton. For Landman, Reeder slotted in for his reps. Ferguson has primarily been working with the line led by Stetson Bennett.

After practice, head coach Sean McVay addressed the absences, confirming that they were all injury-related. Turner was dealing with a back injury. “His back’s bothering him a little bit, so we’re going to be smart with him,” said McVay.
Ferguson suffered a groin injury. McVay added some uncertainty to his timeline for return; “It’s unfortunate that he got a little bit of a groin. Don’t know how long he’ll be out for, but we are going to be smart.”
Landman left practice with a lower leg injury. “Yeah, I think he felt a little bit of a calf,” McVay stated. “We were just being smart with him.”
Turner has been remarkably healthy through his two seasons. He delt with a groin issue during last seasons training camp, but was healthy through the season. Ferguson only missed a limited time in his college days due to an appendectomy.
In 2024, Landman was placed on injured reserve from Weeks 2 to 5 after suffering quad and calf injuries. He initially tore part of his quad during training camp but managed to play through it in Week 1. However, as he explained, compensating for the quad injury ultimately led to a tear in his calf.
