Los Angeles Chargers Linked To 5x All-Pro Receiver

With Super Bowl 59 behind us, we are officially in rumor season and the Los Angeles Chargers have already been subject to many of them.

We all know that the Chargers need to get better offensively, specifically at the wide receiver position. Ladd McConkey is a rising star, but they need another weapon to give QB Justin Herbert.

They have been linked to multiple veteran wideouts including Cooper Kupp across town, Davante Adams, DK Metcalf, and the number one free agent on the market Tee Higgins. But now a new name has emerged, and it is a really intriguing one.

On a recent episode of the Bill Simmons Podcast, Simmons and his guest Cousin Sal mentioned that they saw Tyreek Hill during the week’s festivities.

“We saw Tyreek Hill on Friday, I was trying to get him to come to the Pats, wasn’t happening,” Simmons joked.

“Are you gonna tell em what he said after?” Questioned Cousin Sal. “I said come to the Cowboys, and then he did the eyes thing…”

“Well then someone that was with him said ‘watch out for the Chargers and walked off,” Simmons finished.

Obviously, this doesn’t actually mean anything, but it is some fun fodder and does show that the Chargers are on Hill’s radar. While he has always publicly supported Tua Tagovailoa, it would certainly be an upgrade joining Herbert, at the very least in the element of the deep ball.

For this to happen, the Chargers would have to propose a trade and give up assets. It would probably take a 2nd or 3rd round pick to get it done, and then they would need to re-work Hill’s contract as his 2026 cap hit is nearly $52 million, per Over The Cap.

There are ways to restructure this, but that would be a huge part of the conversation during trade negotiations.

Would you want to see Tyreek Hill in a Los Angeles Chargers Uni, or rather go after one of the other wide receiver options out there?
