Los Angeles Chargers Announce Release Date For New Alternative Uniforms

Los Angeles Chargers fans, mark your calendars: a fresh look is on the horizon.

The Los Angeles Chargers announced via social media Tuesday that their new alternate uniforms will officially be unveiled on July 15, just two days before training camp begins. The reveal promises to be a major event, continuing the team’s tradition of bold and highly praised uniform innovations.

⚡️ Los Angeles Chargers Set July 15 Reveal for New Alternate Uniforms — Helmet Change Coming Too?

The announcement was first reported by Eric Smith of Chargers.com, who shared the team’s teaser video and broke down the timeline and expectations surrounding the upcoming release.

“We’ve always considered ourselves to be leaders in the uniform space,” said President of Business Operations A.G. Spanos. “We take pride in the fact that the Chargers are widely considered to have the best uniforms in the NFL; some even argue in all of sports.”

The Chargers’ current primary uniforms, introduced in 2020, feature the signature white helmet and a combination of powder blue, white, or gold elements. Their alternate sets include navy and royal blue kits, with helmet decals modified to match each look. However, this summer’s alternate drop is expected to include more than just a jersey.

Though the team has not officially confirmed a helmet change, speculation is swirling that a navy blue alternate helmet could be on the way.

Fueling the rumors: a promotional collaboration with Crenshaw City Skate Club where Chargers players were seen holding custom navy helmets featuring gold and royal bolt decals, navy cages, and gold TV numbers. While the team clarified that the helmet was part of the merch shoot and not an official leak, it didn’t stop the internet from buzzing.

Adding to the intrigue, General Manager Joe Hortiz was asked about the potential new helmet during an appearance on The Up & Adams Show. His answer? Cryptic but telling:

“I can’t confirm. But I know that we dabbled with some stuff, so I’m sure there’s something coming.”

The potential move would make sense. Since the NFL lifted its “one-shell” helmet rule in 2022, over half the league has debuted second (or even third) helmet designs. The Chargers have stuck with their white shell, modifying decals to match uniforms — but with the royal alternate now retired, the all-navy look feels primed for a true navy helmet pairing.

The new uniforms and merch will be available online at chargers.com/shop, NFLShop.com, and at team retail locations, including the Equipment Room at SoFi Stadium, Chargers Commons in El Segundo, and on-site at training camp.

The team has promised an expanded line of merchandise around the launch, including apparel that complements the new alternate uniform. Expect the drop to kick off a wave of new Chargers gear for the 2025 season.

🚀 A Bold Look for a New Era

Whether the new reveal includes a helmet or not, the Bolts are again pushing the boundaries of NFL fashion. And with training camp around the corner, fans won’t have to wait much longer to see if the Navy Shell finally makes its debut.
