Los Angeles Chargers Re-Sign Offensive Stalwart To Multi-Year Deal

According to Daniel Popper of the Athletic, The Los Angeles Chargers have solidified their offensive line by agreeing to multi-year contract extensions with center Bradley Bozeman. Bozeman’s presence was instrumental in the Chargers’ offensive efficiency during the 2024 regular season, contributing to the team’s record of having the second-fewest turnovers in the league. A seasoned seven-year NFL veteran, Bozeman has appeared in 118 career games, including 98 starts and postseason appearances, across his stints with the Baltimore Ravens, Carolina Panthers, and Los Angeles Chargers.

Drafted by the Ravens in the sixth round (215th overall) of the 2018 NFL Draft, Bozeman demonstrated his versatility and reliability. He started 52 of 67 games at both left guard and center for Baltimore from 2018 to 2021, before transitioning to a consistent starting role at center with Carolina, where he started 28 consecutive games in 2022 and 2023. He further extended his starting streak to 46 consecutive games by starting all 18 games for LA in 2024, including postseason play.

Bozeman’s durability was evident as he played all but 11 offensive snaps during the 2024 regular season, appearing in 1,051 out of 1,063 plays. In 2020, while playing left guard for Baltimore, he contributed to the team’s league-leading rushing attack, which averaged 191.9 yards per game.

Bozeman’s decision to remain with LA signals a period of stability in his career, preventing him from joining a fourth team in the past five seasons. While his pass protection may not be his strongest attribute, evidenced by his 4.7 percent pressure rate allowed in 2024 (compared to the 3.5 percent average for centers), his strengths lie elsewhere.

Bozeman has consistently demonstrated exceptional run-blocking skills, characterized by significant play strength, toughness, and unwavering persistence. These attributes are highly valued by Jim Harbaugh, making Bozeman a reliable and effective starter for the Chargers’ offensive line.
