While the Los Angeles Chargers have made positive strides in bolstering their roster during free agency, the need for additional pass-catching options remains a clear priority. Ladd McConkey’s promising rookie season provides a solid foundation, but the overall depth of the wide receiver and tight end group raises concerns. Notably, Mike Williams’ performance last year was underwhelming, and he stands as the sole significant addition to Justin Herbert’s receiving corps thus far.
While the team should look to add more bodies to the WR room, the Chargers have yet to improve their tight-end battalion. In fact, they lost two tight ends in free agency — Hayden Hurst and Stone Smartt. Leaving them without a bon-a-fide pass catcher at the position.
While many predict the team will address this in the draft by picking up Michigan Wolverine, Colston Loveland another fit is not reportedly available through a trade.
Los Angeles Chargers: Baltimore Ravens Open To Trading TE

Mark Andrews, the Baltimore Ravens’ tight end, has been the subject of persistent trade and release speculation throughout the offseason. Entering the final year of his four-year extension, Andrews carries a $16.9 million cap hit and has no remaining guaranteed money on his contract, creating a financial incentive for the Ravens to part ways. However, the team’s decision to retain him and pay his $4 million roster bonus suggests a commitment to keeping him for the 2025 season.
Despite this, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic believes a trade is still possible, provided the Ravens receive adequate compensation. While Andrews’ playoff performance was disappointing, his overall track record remains strong. However, given his substantial cap hit and the emergence of Isaiah Likely, a team in need of a tight end might be able to acquire Andrews for a third-round draft pick. Several teams could potentially make such a move.
