Los Angeles Chargers Declare Team Captains For The 2025 Season

In the midst of scrambling to fill out the 17-man practice squad roster, the Los Angeles Chargers have announced the six captains voted on by the players this season, along with the alternates should they replace them.

With that being said, here are your team captains for the 2025 Los Angeles Chargers.

Los Angeles Chargers Offensive Team Captains

QB – Justin Herbert

This should come as no surprise, as the face of the franchise hinges on Justin Herbert’s ability on the field. The team clearly loves their signal-caller and will back him till the end of the Earth.

LT – Joe Alt

With Rashawn Slater going down with a season-ending patellar injury, it’s sophomore player Joe Alt who’s filled the leadership void along the offensive line, en route to his first team captain selection.

The rising phenom has begun to break out of his shell as a person, and should carry over the leadership qualities he displayed when he captained the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

C – Bradley Bozeman

The nucleus of the offensive line has once again been voted on as a captain for this team, signaling the continued respect the 8th-year veteran receives.

It likely stems from when he fended off New Orleans Saints DT Nathan Shepherd after pulling a dirty move on Justin Herbert.

Los Angeles Chargers Defensive Team Captains

S/Nickel Derwin James

Arguably, head coach Jim Harbaugh’s personal favorite player, the now 5th-year team captain, was a no-brainer pick for this honor.

Derwin James embodies the qualities that all NFL players should aspire to have, and is also the winner of the Ed Block Courage Award and Block of Granite Award, which is given to the toughest player in the weight room.

OLB Khalil Mack

In what could be his final campaign in the NFL, the 12-year veteran is the perfect example for younger teammates to rally and learn from.

His calm demeanor, blended with his ability to elevate others, is what makes him a model candidate for this title.

ILB Daiyan Henley

The recipient of the team’s “Yapper Award” has shown the most growth by any Chargers player in recent memory and receives his first nod for team captain.

Now wearing the green dot for the second season in a row, he’ll continue to hone in on his leadership skills, while giving the juice needed for the 10 other players around him when the going gets tough.

Chargers Alternate Team Captains

WR Keenan Allen

The return of one of the most successful players in the Chargers’ franchise history was a sight for sore eyes. Allen will take more of a backseat role this season, allowing for newer players to grow into themselves, as he continues to mentor this young receiving core

ILB Denzel Parryman

One of the two remaining ‘San Diego’ Chargers will also be in a guidance role on the team’s defense, as the youth movement gradually progresses. Don’t sleep on the wily old veteran, as he still is one of the hardest-hitting players on the team, and can command the reins of the defense on a dime.
