As the 2025 NFL Draft approaches, trade rumors surrounding Miami Dolphins receiver Tyreek Hill are gaining traction, fueled in part by the player’s own social media activity. Among the potential destinations being discussed are the Los Angeles Chargers, where he could team up with quarterback Justin Herbert.
Hill would be a significant acquisition for the Chargers, addressing a clear need for a dynamic receiving threat. Justin Herbert requires additional targets to maximize his potential and compete effectively within the challenging AFC West. While Los Angeles have made some moves in the offseason, including signing veteran receiver Mike Williams to a one-year deal and boasting a connection between Herbert and receiver Ladd McConkey, the addition of a player of Hill’s caliber would represent a substantial upgrade.
Los Angeles Chargers Named In Tyreek Hill Trade Speculation

CBS Sports’ Cody Benjamin has identified the Chargers, Cowboys, Las Vegas Raiders, Green Bay Packers, and Washington Commanders as plausible trade destinations for Hill. In Benjamin’s proposed scenario, the LA would receive Hill and a 2025 fifth-round pick in exchange for their 2025 second-round pick and a 2026 fourth-round pick.
Hill’s frustrations with the Dolphins became evident following the 2024 season, where he recorded 959 receiving yards and six touchdowns, marking the first time since his rookie year that he failed to reach 1,000 yards in a full season. His standout year was 2023, when he amassed 119 receptions for 1,799 yards and 13 touchdowns.
Reflecting on the 2024 season, Hill expressed his competitive drive, stating in January, “I’m out. It was great playing here, but at the end of the day, I gotta do what’s best for my career because I’m too much of a competitor to be just out there.”
While Hill has since tempered his comments, his decision to share rather than dismiss reports linking him to the Chargers on social media has only intensified the trade speculation.
An eight-time Pro Bowler and five-time First Team All-Pro, Hill could immediately step into the role of the Chargers’ primary receiver, complementing the emergence of second-year wideout Ladd McConkey, who led the team with 1,149 receiving yards and seven touchdowns in his rookie season. This potential trade scenario assumes the Chargers do not pursue free-agent receiver Keenan Allen. With significant cap space available, a trade for Hill remains a distinct possibility, alongside the option of drafting a receiver.
