LB – Denzel Perryman – OUT (IR)

Starting linebacker Denzel Perryman suffered a high ankle sprain against the Chiefs in Week 1 and has just been placed on short-term IR. He’ll miss a minimum of 4 games as he continues to work his way back on the field.

LB – Del’Shawn Phillips – Questionable

Phillips is dealing with a toe injury, but was able to log back-to-back limited practices on Friday and Saturday, which bolsters his chances of playing against the Raiders.

Active Roster Signing

LS – Rick Lovato

The Chargers have decided to sign veteran long snapper Rick Lovato to the 53-man active roster from the practice squad, with starting LS Josh Harris still on IR due to a sternum injury suffered in the preseason.

This move allows the Chargers to have more flexibility in terms of practice squad elevations and not be forced to use one of the elevations on Lovato each week.

S – Tony Jefferson (Veteran)

LB – Kanai’ Mauga

Due to the injuries at the LB and S positions, the Chargers have elected to elevate 11-year veteran S Tony Jefferson to provide more stability on the backend.

They’ve also brought up LB Kanai Mauga, who figures to be the special teams replacement if Del’Shawn Phillips isn’t able to suit up. He also provides more depth in a razor-thin LB group that’s littered with injuries right now.
