Los Angeles Chargers Practice Squad Elevations
RB | Nyheim Hines

Is Jim Harbaugh The Real Life Ted Lasso?
Signed onto the practice squad just last week, Hines made an immediate impact, primarily on special teams as a kick returner.
He was able to tally 97 return yards on 3 returns with a healthy 32.3 yards per return against the Dolphins. His most impactful play of the game was his 40-yard return that set up QB Justin Herbert and the offense for the game-winning field goal drive.
His second activation of the year serves as an insurance policy for the Chargers if All-Pro returner and WR Derius Davis is unable to suit up. Davis is currently dealing with a nagging knee injury and is listed as questionable for the game.
LS | Rick Lovato
Los Angeles is similarly operating with Lovato as they did early on in the season, calling him up from the practice squad on game days to create an extra active roster spot for other position groups.
The veteran long snapper has been a standout fill-in for the Chargers as K Cameron Dicker is a perfect 14 for 14 so far this season, maintaining the title of the NFL’s most accurate kicker.
Hopefully, starting LS Josh Harris can return soon from IR, though it looks like his sternum injury was more serious than initially anticipated. Regardless, the Chargers’ special teams unit is in good hands with Lovato playing well.
