Los Angeles Chargers Roster Moves
Injured Reserve Activations
The future Hall of Famer returns to the active roster after missing the past four games due to an elbow dislocation he suffered from a friendly fire hit from LB Troy Dye.
Is Jim Harbaugh The Real Life Ted Lasso?
The return of his veteran presence and leadership qualities as a captain, as well as his on-field impact as a pass rusher and, more importantly, as a run defender, will be a huge boost to this defense that hasn’t played to its full potential yet.
The Chargers also welcome back fellow captain Denzel Perryman, whose downhill run-stopping playstyle has been missing since suffering a nagging high ankle sprain all the way back in Week 1 against the Chiefs in São Paulo, Brazil.
He’ll likely slide back ot his starting role next to LB Daiyan Henley, and help strengthen a LB group that’s been thin due to injuries.
Corresponding Roster Moves
To make room for the return of the two veterans, the Chargers have opted to waive OLB Caleb Murphy. He’s seen significant snaps as a pass rusher in the absence of Mack, as well as being a core special teamer on all four phases of that front.
The hope is to bring him back onto the practice squad, though it’s no guarantee, as he could easily be swooped up and claimed by another team with injuries hitting all across the league.
